Trade waste · Ipswich
Waste removal for builders, plumbers, electricians, landscapers and other tradespeople, with trade accounts and transfer notes for every job.
If you produce waste in the course of your work, it is trade waste, even if you are working in someone's home. You cannot take it to a household recycling centre for free, and both you and your customer have a duty of care to make sure it goes to a licensed site.
We collect trade waste across Ipswich in whatever way suits the job: a skip on site, a grab lorry for heavy spoil, a caged lorry for a quick wait-and-load, or regular collections from your yard or van. Trade account customers get priority booking and one monthly invoice.
Every collection comes with a waste transfer note, so you can show customers and inspectors where your waste went. That paperwork matters: fly-tipping fines and prosecutions often trace back to traders who handed waste to unlicensed carriers.

| Trade | Typical waste | Best option |
|---|---|---|
| Builders | Rubble, timber, mixed waste | Builders' skip, grab hire |
| Plumbers and heating engineers | Old boilers, radiators, pipework | Wait and load, scrap metal collection |
| Electricians | Cable, fittings, old appliances | Wait and load, WEEE collection |
| Landscapers | Soil, green waste, old paving | Grab hire, skip |
| Kitchen and bathroom fitters | Old units, suites, tiles | Skip, wait and load |
Anyone who produces business waste must take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled by a registered carrier and taken to an authorised site. Keep your transfer notes for two years.
If you carry your own construction waste in your van, you need to register as a waste carrier with the Environment Agency. Taking it to a licensed site will usually involve a gate fee.
Suffolk's recycling centres are for household waste. Traders bringing work waste can be turned away or charged, and vans may need a permit.
Paint, oils, solvents, asbestos and fluorescent tubes are hazardous and need consignment notes. Keep them out of general waste and ask us for a separate collection.
