20 yard
Low-sided, suitable for heavier mixed waste and demolition material.
RoRo skips · 20 to 40 yards
20, 30 and 40 yard RoRo containers for construction sites, demolition, factories, warehouses and large commercial clearances.
Roll-on roll-off skips, usually called RoRo skips, are the large open containers you see on building sites, at factories and outside big retail units. They are winched onto a hook-lift lorry instead of lifted by chains, which means they can be much larger than standard skips.
RoRos suit high volumes of bulky waste: strip-outs, packaging, timber, light demolition waste and the contents of large clearances. Businesses on Ipswich's industrial estates and around the port also use them as a permanent waste container, exchanged on a schedule.
Because they are so large, RoRos are generally for light or mixed waste. For heavy loads such as soil and concrete, a 20 yard RoRo with low sides is the most you should use, and even then only part-filled. Ask us and we will match the container to the material.

A RoRo lorry needs a long, straight approach, firm ground and plenty of overhead clearance, because the container is winched up a steep angle. We check access during booking and can visit large sites first.
Even large lorries have legal weight limits. Overfilling a RoRo with heavy material means it cannot go on the road until some is removed, which costs time on both sides.
On large projects, separating wood, metal and cardboard into their own containers can reduce costs and helps you report recycling rates to clients.
RoRos are almost always placed on private land. If one has to go on the highway, it needs a council permit and traffic management.

A normal skip is lifted by chains onto a skip lorry. A RoRo is winched onto a hook-lift lorry, so it can be much bigger, from 20 to 40 yards.
Allow about 6 metres for the container, plus room for the lorry to line up behind it and plenty of headroom.
Only in small amounts in a 20 yard low-sided container. For heavy loads, use several builders' skips or grab hire.
