General waste
Non-recyclable waste in 240 to 1,100 litre bins.
Business waste · Ipswich
Wheelie bins and scheduled collections for shops, offices, pubs, restaurants and workshops, with general waste, recycling, glass and food waste all on one contract.
Every business in England has a legal duty to deal with its waste properly. You cannot put business waste in a household bin or take it to a household recycling centre, and you need a waste transfer note for every collection. A commercial waste contract takes care of all of this.
We supply bins sized for your business, collect them on a schedule that suits your opening hours, and send the waste for recycling and recovery. Pubs and restaurants in the town centre, offices on the Waterfront, shops along Westgate Street and Carr Street, and workshops on the industrial estates all have different needs, so we build each contract around the business.
From 31 March 2025, most businesses in England with 10 or more employees have had to separate dry recycling and food waste from general waste under the Simpler Recycling rules. Micro-firms with fewer than 10 employees must follow the same rules from 31 March 2027. We can set you up with the right bins now so you are compliant.

Business waste must only be handed to a registered waste carrier. You can check any carrier on the Environment Agency's public register.
You need a waste transfer note describing your waste, which must be kept for at least two years. With a contract, an annual transfer note usually covers regular collections.
Under Simpler Recycling, businesses with 10 or more employees must keep dry recycling and food waste apart from general waste. Smaller businesses must comply from 31 March 2027.
Bins should be lidded and stored where waste cannot blow away or be scattered. Lockable bins help prevent fly-tipping into your bins by others.
Recycling streams are usually cheaper than general waste, so moving waste from general to recycling bins can cut your bill. A waste audit shows where the savings are.
